Helen Wyman Coming to Clif Bar CrossVegas

World’s #2 Ranked to Race in Las Vegas

Longmont, Colorado – On the heels of announcements about the strong men’s field of competitors expected for 2014, the organizers of Clif Bar CrossVegas have released the first names of the women’s field of competitors.

Helen Wyman of Great Britain, currently ranked #2 in the world following a 2013 season that included a silver medal at the World Championships and a win in the European Championships, will be racing in the season-opening race scheduled Wednesday September 10 in Las Vegas.

Wyman commented on her plans, “I'm really excited to be racing in Vegas in 2014. Cross Vegas is a standout event on the world calendar.  After a couple of years away from Vegas, its certainly made me keen to come back and perform well in front of one of the best crowds on U.S. soil.”

The women’s field will be competing for an equal prize list to the men’s field with almost $9,000 in cash plus valuable UCI points as a result of the Category 1 status of the race.  In addition CrossVegas is part of the season long U.S. ProCX Calendar awarding $40,000 in prizes.

Race Director Brook Watts adds that more competitor announcements will be coming shortly on both the women and men’s side as racing schedules are finalized for the season.
