Rapha Super Cross Munich

Cyclocross festival in Olympiapark München on October 29-30th, 2016

 Rapha Super Cross returns to Munich’s Olympic Park on 29-30 October, for the third edition of what’s quickly become a legendary cyclocross festival. The event, driven by enthusiasm and passion for the sport, has evolved from a one-day race in 2014 into a two-day festival that is now one of the highlights of the European cyclocross racing calendar.

With something for everyone, the event offers Cross Clinics – a chance for beginners to work on their skills – and a Rapha Cross gravel ride that will test your endurance. Aspiring racers can also try their hand in the mud and over the hurdles on the World Championship course, at the city’s Olympic Park.

For licensed racers, Sunday 30 October will be part of the Deutschland Cup race series, which serves as qualifier for the German Cyclocross Championships. We expect to see many high-class athletes on the start line, including the 1985 amateur world champion and 2015 Rapha Super Cross Champion Mike Kluge, who will be looking to defend his title.

Rapha Super Cross Munich will also once again host the final rounds of the MTB Isar Cup, a series of races for junior Bavarian riders, where around 150 juniors aged between 5 and 16 compete to win their age-group and the overall title.

The Expo Village, in the start and finish area, will host an exciting display of brands from the cycling world, with test bikes, product news, festival offers and entertainment for participants and spectators alike. The traditional beer tent will be a prominent feature over the weekend, offering food, drinks and even a brass band. A Rapha Pop-Up store will also be open, with a selection of products for sale.

Situated in the very heart of Munich and offering an incredible natural space, the Olympic Park is an ideal location for the Rapha Super Cross. The host venue for the 1985 and 1997 Cyclocross World Championships, the park guarantees an attractive yet demanding course.
